I “ve never fired anyone for a “crazy” reason – it “s always come down to well-documented examples of poor work performance, generally deriving from a poor culture fit.
Now, that in itself may be considered a crazy reason for people unfamiliar with the concept.
To some people, a job is a job. You take it and you do the job, and that “s that.
However, if you take a job that you “re not culturally aligned with, you won “t perform to the best of your abilities, and your work will suffer for it.
If you don “t *enjoy what you do*, it shows. Other people aren “t going to want to work with you. You aren “t going to want to come in to the office. Eventually, you “re just going to dread that job you took for the paycheck.
And then you “ll end up getting fired.
So while it was poor performance that did them in, it was almost always culture fit that was the cause.
