Anyone who reads my answers may start to notice a pattern on this, but I need to call attention to the word choice.
The language we use is extremely important as it will surface things that are rooting about in our subconscious.
So, as a coach – my inclination is to examine why you picked the specific words and phrases to ask it, and use that to determine the answer.
You start off with “throwing away your whole life” – is this a fact, or a feeling? Is there nothing from your current life that would continue to exist? Would you need to give up all of your hobbies, your friends, your home, your family, your history, and pack up and start afresh?
When people make statements such as these, they feel that what they are doing is incompatible with the lifestyle they currently have, and cannot see any way to fit it in. In some instances, there truly may be no choice but to scrap everything and start fresh somewhere else, but in most cases people merely need to find a way to integrate their new passion into their existing life, which will make it stronger.
You continue by describing your passion as “adventurous.” This is not a common descriptor for that term, so if I were speaking directly to you I would ask for clarification on what the passion was. This may be the clue as to why you feel it incompatible with your current life, but in general, it is a choice on whether or not to integrate “old” you with “future” you.
After starting out with such strong verbiage, you go to the word “could.” It jives with the whole “asking for help on Quora” thing, but I would argue that you’ve got fairly strong opinions already in one direction and the apparent trepidation here is that you’re looking for someone to back you up.
And lastly, you use the word “stupid” to describe the idea. To me, this is the most important.
The idea, which merely “could” lead to happiness, is something that you feel is “stupid.”
So, why would on earth would you “throw your life away” to pursue it?
No matter what anyone else here says, you will need to find within yourself the will to follow your “adventurous passion”, and I simply don’t see that you have it right now.
