When I was a child, I had the belief (not a feeling, or whimsy, or random thought, but true belief) that somewhere, out “there”, someone else was experiencing the same things as me, thinking the same thoughts. I knew this to be true.
As I grew up, I expanded this belief slightly – I realized it wasn’t a single person; there was no clone of me out there in the universe living my life in tandem, but rather that the thoughts that I have were never just mine. One person may have a completely different life experience than me but still arrive at the same thought.
Twenty may see the same thing and have twenty different perceptions.
As an adult, I believe that there are an infinite number of beings spread throughout the metaverse, all with the potential to have the same experience, thoughts and emotions as me at the same time.
And that’s pretty cool.
