I spend a lot of my day reading – for work, and then at least 3 hours a day (yes, every day) for pleasure, to wind down my brain.
I’ve read A LOT.
I’ve dare say I have read all the books that people have said on here as unreadable, and while I agree that they are pretty much drivel, I would argue that you *should* read them for their pop culture relevance if for nothing else. The top 7 are actually fairly quick reads (and you can get through 50 shades in like an hour with a lot of “flipping” past the really, REALLY inane parts.)
There is only one book that I would ever recommend people stay away from.
I was so excited
I read the whole thing in a few hours.
And then I shut the book in disbelief.
“HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US, ARTHUR C. CLARKE?!” I screamed.
I don’t even want to go into how terrible it was. It almost turned me off science fiction for good, it was that bad.
This is the only book that I have ever returned to a bookstore for a refund. And that includes college textbooks (I still have all of them!)
Ignore the reviews – this book is just terrible.
