I get:
“You were awesome on House!” (Nope, that would be Olivia.)
“Are you related to Olivia Wilde?” (Nope.)
“You’re much younger than I thought.” (Wrong Heather Wilde)
“I’m SURE I’ve seen you somewhere before.” (Also wrong Heather Wilde – but flattered!)
“Are you related to Oscar Wilde?” (No, but my husband is.)
I think its just a fun way for people to try to connect with me, really. They remember something that made them happy, be it some great piece of acting, literature, modeling, etc, and they want to apply it to me.
I’m always flattered by that, and use it as a segue into some conversation starter…
“Well, no, I’m sorry to say that’s not me but Olivia Wilde, but wasn’t she just wonderful in Rush?”. 🙂
