This is actually a great question, as it doesn’t ask “Where does one learn how to be an entrepreneur?” but rather “I’m an entrepreneur, how do I increase my chance of success by honing my skills?”
The answer is: well, it depends.
People learn in one of four distinct ways:
Visual learners prefer the use of images, graphics, maps, charts and other visual devices in order to understand things.
If you are trying to teach “startup stuff” to a visual learner, you would have lots of infographics and highly detailed charts mapping the flow. Visual Learners would prefer a site like Venture Capital Database – CB Insights to learn what to do and what not to do.
Read/Write learners learn best through words, takin a huge amount of notes and translating the complex or abstract ideas into more easily understood ones – usually in the form of essays, articles, etc.
They tend to shun graphics/video as a distraction from the real “information.” As such, you’ll often find them reading business books (then writing summaries.)
For your startup site, you would want long-form essays and a user forum in order to capture the attention of your read-write learners.
Auditory learners are at their best when they can listen to a lecture, participate in a group discussion or have otherwise spoken verbal interaction. They will use spoken repetition/memorization as well as mnemonics in order to remember things best.
For your startup site, you would want to have videos and a podcast, as well as participatory webinars, and in-person meet ups, so you can appease your auditory learners.
Kinesthetic learners are hands on people. They need to actually live through a process, really feel it, in order to understand it.
These are going to be the people who tell you “you can’t learn how to build a startup from a website, you need to just go out and do it.”
For them, create a set of checklists and instructions, for them to try out themselves.
If you put all of those elements together, you can create a site that will be useful to people who want to build a new company. There are plenty of people who want to and don’t know how, and have to search all over the Internet to find the information that works for them.
Be the site that does it well.
