As my husband likes to say – “You are assuming facts not in evidence.”
At the startup level, when companies are bootstrapping, it is definitely helpful for all members of your team (and in many cases, that’s just one guy), to be a programmer, because how else can you get stuff done?
Those guys are “founders”, though – not CEOs.
I would venture to say that the majority of CEOs of Technology companies (and even a lot of the founders) couldn’t write a line of code if their life depended on it.
That’s why they have technical cofounders and CTOs.
