Every few months, I do a cleanup where I run script that simply archives any unread messages in any programs hat are cloud based and allow me to do that.
I also have filters that skip the inbox and mark as read on certain emails so they never become notifications in the first place (but woe betide someone that falls into this filter.)
I turned off Facebook and Twitter notifications entirely years ago.
That being said, when your notification screen looks like this:
the only way I’m going to know you contacted me is if you jab me with a big pointy sick repeatedly.
It’s not an anxiety thing for me, it’s a volume thing. Contact me once somewhere and expect me to see it?
