Actually, this technically isn’t a change.
Evernote employees have always been able to have access to your notes – as the article points out, and it has been in the privacy policy.
The key is that they only do so for extremely good reason, prior to now has been with your overt permission (as in during a support case, exxept where a warrant is concerned), and it is limited to very specific employees.
The difference is that now it may be done covertly as well as overtly.
This is the same as any online service. Your data is decentralized and analyzed – it is “there” to learn from by people, but in a blind way that wouldn “t be recognized as “yours.”
You can encrypt your messages or delete your account if you do not agree with the policy.
