Titles are irrelevant in a startup under a certain size, especially if you don’t have the experience to back it up.
There are only a few full-time employees in my company, so we decided to use titles that reflect what we “do” rather than what we “are.”
That’s how I ended up with “Unicorn Whisperer.”
I *am* a CTO, and perform those duties (with the knowledge and experience expected of someone in that role.) But the thing that I have to live up to every day is the “Unicorn Whisperer” brand on my arm.
