If you want to sit in the exit row, that is the “price” you have to pay.
The instructions are listed on the window. If it is an attached window, you simply need to pull the handle then push it up. If it is a levered kind, you will need to turn the lever, lift the window in, twist it, and throw the window onto the wing (around 50-75lbs.)
In an emergency situation, you will absolutely remember to do this. Why? Because you will have the pleasure of being the first person out of that sinking/burning/smoking plane once you do.
If you don’t, the guy next to you will trample you and do it himself.
