It honestly doesn’t matter where you start, as long as you do.
My first language was BASIC, then FORTRAN, then C, then C++, then TKL/TK, then I can’t even remember from there. It blurs once you start going 🙂
I recommend if you are starting now, you pick up one of the great “Learn x The Hard Way” books as a jumpstart.
By the time you are done, you’ll have a basic understanding of one language, and can start on another.
