I have to tell you, getting a sailboat was probably the best thing my husband and I could have ever done for our relationship, careers and wanderlust.
We would research towns and ports ahead of time to ensure we would have good internet options, and also beautiful, easy sails for weekends.
And later, buying our RV allowed us to continue to travel on our terms.
I love to travel. I love flying, I love hotels, I love small towns and big cities. (I hate flying insects.)
I can tell you definitively that since you are traveling together, wherever you choose to go will be perfect.
Be prepared thought – you will cram years of marriage into months. Most people only spend an hour or two a day with their spouse, and you will have 24/7.
By the time you are done with this you’ll either be an old married couple or divorced.
And I’ve seen both happen with my fellow nomads – even the ones with kids.
That all said, some of my personal affordable favorite places on the planet are Mauritius, La Paz (MX), and Panama.
