In my particular case, I went through the 7 stages of grief (Shock, Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Guilt, Depression, Acceptance) in what seemed like an eternity, but to my friend that was there with me said was more like a nanosecond.
It all happened when my doctor said the words: “We’ve found a rare defect in your brain…”
What I heard was: “You’ll never go into space.”
I wanted to be an astronaut. I felt like I wanted it more than anyone has ever wanted anything.
And then, in an instant, I found out I couldn’t have it.
So, in the next instant, I moved on. Just like that. Chapter of life closed.
