This will likely be a controversial answer, but 2015 was one of those years where not much “new” happened.
This was a year where some things that had been in development for a long time were released (like the Apple Watch, consumer drones, affordable 8K TVs), or some things that will take some more time to develop were announced (fully self-driving cars).
It’s a year where we’ve had some really neat advances in overall adoption to technology, such as this amazingness:
And that everyone and their grandmother are wearing Fitbit or some other type of health monitor.
2015 was a year of adoption, not true innovation – and that’s ok.
We need those.
(That, and there’s plenty of disruption outside of tech. Can’t have it everywhere.)
