Depends on the type of checkup you mean.
I go for an annual executive physical because it is required by one of my insurance companies. If I didn’t, the rates on that insurance would increase.
I also have regular checkups with various specialists for specific parts of my body (annual with neurologist, annual with endocrinologist, etc) because I need to have specific tests done based on my personal medical history.
And, I see my dentist every 3 months for deep cleanings, but once a year for a full checkup.
In my circle of friends, it’s the men I know who seem to have an aversion to regular checkups with the doctor, and need to be heavily nudged (sometimes forcefully) to go.
So, it really just depends.
