I’m a big believer in gathering as much data as you can do you can filter it down appropriately.

For that reason, you should ask everyone you have the chance to – men, women, trees, dogs, what have you – any question you want an answer to.

The answers (or lack thereof, as the case may be) yet get are all useful information.

In addition to asking, however, you should be observing behavior. Watch to see what people do in relation to others and when they are alone, and then formulate your approach based on everything you know of them.

For example, if there is a girl you want to ask out – find out what you know about her first.

Does she always wear a particular brand of clothing? Is she always eating the same kind of yogurt? Does she belong to any clubs? Does she listen to any music you like?

Find out what you have in common (don’t pretend to be something you aren’t) and work with that.

My suggestion is to do this with an email signup form, Mailchimp double-opt in and auto responder emails. You can use WordPress, another type of CMS Dropbox, or just a regular website.

Once they have confirmed their email, in the final thank you response email you will send them a link to the file and a password. You can change that password however infrequently you choose – password protected pages aren’t indexed, and people who are going to share the material will do so as soon as they have it anyway.

Attraction is a natural thing.

During the course of your life, you will be attracted to more than one person, and not all of them will reciprocate.

You will also find that there are people attracted to you that *you* don’t have the same feelings for.

Use this as a learning exercise to find out what it is you like about this particular boy – is it his looks? His sense of humor? His intelligence?

Speaking from experience, I didn’t take the time to do this until recently. I realized after seeing a picture of my husband from years before we met that he was the spitting image of my first crush in elementary school (sadly, an unrequited love), who in turn looked like the first boy I’d chased around the schoolyard trying to steal kisses from (he was fast, and I believe there were lots of shouts of “Cooties!”)

All three guys were intelligent, funny and extremely physically similar. I realized, belatedly, that I have a “type.” I’m still not entirely sure what to make of that, if anything.

My point is, this is not the end of the world, by any stretch. Be happy that you are feeling this way about anyone, and be open to feeling it again – because you will!
