Honestly, this has nothing at all to do with gender or race, but simple statistics.
For any given job, you will start with a pool of qualified applicants.
In a tech job, the percentage of qualified female applicants is always tiny to begin with, and then when you add in minority races to the mix you “re going to make it such a small percentage as to be nearly impossible.
Generally, hiring managers make their decisions on a candidate within the first few people they bring in (they just do, its the law of primacy.)
So even if said female is in the applicant pool, and does manage to get shortlisted for an interview, unless she “s one of the first up for an in-person interview, she doesn “t have a chance to get hired.
